The Inn Is Real. The Mystery Is Fiction.
Long before it became the setting of a mystery novel, Riverside Inn had a story of its own.
Author Rachel Ely began writing The Gilded Cage: A Riverside Inn Mystery after she and her husband purchased the historic Riverside Inn in Warsaw, Kentucky.
The mansion, its history and the stories that naturally seem to collect inside an old house became the inspiration for an entirely fictional mystery.
The result became the first novel in the Riverside Inn Mystery Series.

Rachel Ely is the owner and innkeeper of Riverside Inn, a historic bed and breakfast and wedding venue in Warsaw, Kentucky.
After purchasing the property, Rachel found herself fascinated by the lives that had passed through the historic home before her. That fascination eventually became the inspiration for The Gilded Cage: A Riverside Inn Mystery, the first novel in the Riverside Inn Mystery Series.
She writes stories filled with historic places, forgotten secrets, strong women, mystery and just enough romance.
